mClass! VPORT! Burst! iPads! Wifi! Oh my!

Updates as they are rolling into my Inbox…

  • Wifi on your iPads should be turned OFF while you are at your site. Your iPad will continue to search for a signal if this function is turned ON. While ON, you may receive a pop-up. To stop the pop-up from popping-up, click on OK and if it asks for a password, hit CANCEL. Note: Your Student iPads will never need to be on wifi since all student materials will never require internet access.
  • Emailing from the iPad is only allowable if you are sending it from Safari, through a web browser. All iPads were set up with a single email account created for the PSP Program. If you are working on any other App and it links to an email, it will link to the Title I, PSP account and EVERY iPad in the program will receive your email! (Yes, that has already happened. Yes, if you take pictures of your family on your iPad and try to send it somewhere, it will appear on all of our iPads. Yes, that has happened too.)
  • Adding Apps to your iPad is not an option at this time. Our plan is for teachers to request any Apps that they think would be of benefit to teachers, to the PSP Office. Upon review and approval, we will add it from our end.
  • Burst Assessments have been updated! All of the Teacher and Student iPads have been loaded with the new forms. These files are also available on your thumbdrive. You may discard the old Burst Booklets, but not the Burst Kits!
  • VPORT Accounts have not yet been activated. Please hold on to your PRJ Reading Benchmark (Lexile) data and use the Complete Lexile Conversion Table at this time. Check back regularly with the blog to see when the accounts are ready for data entry.
  • Only 100 students per day on DIBELS Next. We want you to keep your sanity, so slow down Dibeler! The DIBELS testing application will only let you load up, up to 100 students at a time. Select only the classes/grades that you will be testing that day, go test, then sync your data, then repeat.
